Liberty University is a current member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Degree Network System (DNS). The school participates in the DNS-2 (Associate level) and DNS-4 (Bachelor’s level) systems. The DNS is a group of institutions selected to provide service members and their eligible family members the opportunity to complete college degrees without losing credit because of frequent changes in duty station. For example, many courses offered by member institutions have two-way guaranteed transferability to provide more flexibility and options to satisfy degree requirements. The SOC DNS Student Agreement issued to all eligible students at member institutions provides a complete evaluation of the service member's prior learning, including courses from other colleges and universities, military training courses, military occupational experience, nationally-recognized tests, and other non-traditional credit, as well as clearly identifying requirements for completing the degree. Current SOC Degree Network System membership and participating degree information is available at http://www.soc.aascu.org.*

Liberty University offers the following academic benefits to military students enrolled at the undergraduate level, depending on their status as an Online or Residential student. These academic benefits are applicable to catalog years that have specific requirements and credit hours that would warrant these waivers.
If you are an undergraduate military student, you are eligible to receive the above academic benefits, whether you meet the requirements to receive a SOC DNS Student Agreement or not. If you do not qualify for a SOC DNS Student Agreement, you will still receive all of the same benefits, but they will apply to the Degree Completion Plan instead.
Found out more about which type of degree plan you will receive by reviewing the Qualifications section below.
A SOC DNS Student Agreement is a contract-for-degree, signed by the institution, that provides a list of degree requirements, evaluates all prior coursework and credit earned through military service and experience or by taking nationally-recognized exams, and identifies which courses are still needed to complete the degree. Only certain branches of the military will qualify for this type of degree plan. All undergraduate military students get the academic benefits outlined in the previous section, but not all military students receive a SOC DNS Student Agreement.
To receive a SOC DNS Student Agreement from Liberty University, you must meet all of the following requirements:
If you do not meet all of the criteria outlined above, you will not receive a SOC DNS Student Agreement. However, you will still receive the academic benefits outlined in the previous section. These will be applied to your Degree Completion Plan Audit, which you can access through your ASIST account at any time.
If you meet the qualifications criteria above, you will automatically receive a copy of your SOC DNS Student Agreement within the first 6 credit hours you take. If you have any questions about your SOC DNS Student Agreement, you can email email@example.com for assistance.
To ensure your SOC DNS Student Agreement (or degree plan) has been finalized and all of the academic benefits have been applied, make sure the following steps have been completed.
