Transfer Policy - Doctor of Education

General Transfer Policies

  • Regionally or Nationally Accredited Institution, approved through the Department of Education
  • Grade of B or higher
  • 80% course equivalency
  • At least 3 semester hours (5 quarter hours) per course
  • Credit will not be awarded for life experience or continuing education workshops

Degree-Specific Transfer Policies

  • Credit limit:
  • 15 hours from uncompleted doctoral program OR
  • 24 hours from a completed Ed.S. degree earned (in the past 5 years) through another institution OR
  • 27 hours from a completed Ed.S. degree earned through Liberty
  • Course limit of 5 years of age
  • Courses from completed degrees are not transferable (unless from completed Ed.S. degree)

The following courses are non-transferable:

  • EDUC 718 (Advanced Research and Writing)
  • EDUC 730 (Technology Practices for Instructional Improvement)
  • EDUC 741 (Theories of Educational Leadership)
  • EDUC 747 (Advanced School Law)
  • EDUC 798 (Advanced Research & Writing)
  • EDUC 812 (Advanced Educational Statistics)
  • EDUC 815 (Quantitative Methods of Research)
  • EDUC 817 (Qualitative Methods of Research)
  • EDUC 919 (Professional Writing for Publication)
