- How do I get started?
Detailed guides are provided for each branch of service, as well as to veterans, to advise you on what steps you should take in order to apply to the program, have your military training evaluated for college credit, and to utilize any military benefits you may be eligible to receive. - Can I receive college credit for my military training?
Yes. Liberty University awards college credit for training evaluated and recommended by the American Council on Education. To request an official evaluation of your military training for college credit, please have your official transcripts sent to:

- Am I eligible for the Tuition Discount? If so, how can I start receiving this benefit?
In order to begin receiving this benefit you will need to submit a copy of your DD-214, Discharge Certificate, Military Orders, Retirement Certificate or Military LES by fax or e-mail (434) 455-1287, luomilitary@liberty.edu. Military spouses may send a copy of their spouse's military documents with a copy of their marriage license. Discounts will reflect on your student account after tuition and fees are applied each term.
- How do I obtain a copy of my DD-214?
You may order a copy of your DD-214 through the National Archives.
- I don’t have a DD-214, what other documentation can I submit to get benefits?
Active Duty:
- Most recent Military Orders
- Most recent LES
- Letter from Superior
- AF Form 899 (Permanent Change of Service Orders)
- Enlisted/Officer Record Brief/Data Verification Brief
- Memorandum of Service
- Proof of Service Letter
- Statement of Service
Reserve / National Guard:
- DD-214* or NGB-22*
- Most recent LES
- Most recent Orders
- Letter from Superior
- Enlisted/Officer Record Brief
- Memorandum of Service
- Proof of Service Letter
- Statement of Service
Discharged / Retired:
- DD-214* or NGB-22*
- General or Honorable Discharge Certificate

- Why am I not receiving the technology fee waiver?
All qualified military students who enroll in at least 6 hours per semester (any combination of sub-terms) will receive a $175 technology fee waiver for the semesters. Students who drop below 6 credit hours will be assessed the technology fee of $175. This applies to Associates, Bachelors, Masters level programs, as well as the Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) and Education Specialists (Ed.S.) programs.
- Where is my military book voucher?
Book vouchers are released 30-40 days prior to the start date of your first course each semester.
- Why is my discount not posted to my account?
Military tuition discounts are applied within 24-48 hours after your registration has been processed and your military documentation has been received.
- When do I need to complete Financial Check-in?
Once your military benefits have posted to your student account (i.e. Tuition Assistance, Post 9/11 GI Bill, etc...) the Office of Military Affairs will email to confirm that the benefit has been posted on your account so that you may complete Financial Check-in. The deadlines for Financial Check-in can be found on the Academic Calendar.
