Facilities open to the public during power outage

June 14, 2013 : Liberty University News Service

Through Sunday, Liberty University is extending a hand to the community during the power outage. Those affected are invited to reserve a room in an East Campus residence hall for their families, as well as use campus laundry facilities and the LaHaye Student Union for showers.

Staff will be available to assist with rooms from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday at the East Campus Clubhouse off Liberty Mountain Drive. Guests must bring their own linens and toiletries. Rooms are equipped with refrigerators.

The laundry unit facility in Residence Hall 20 next to the Hancock Welcome Center will be open from 6 a.m.-midnight. Cash-conversion machines are on-site, which will then provide a laundry card. Credit cards are not accepted.

The LaHaye Student Union will be open for those who need to use shower facilities until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Guests are asked to check in at the LaHaye front desk.

At this time, the dining hall will not be open for meals.

All guests will be expected to follow Liberty University policies while on campus.
