Liberty University Online takes spot on ‘military friendly’ list

August 17, 2009 : University Advancement staff

Liberty University has been ranked in the top 15% of the nation’s colleges, universities and trade schools by “G.I. Jobs” magazine.

Liberty made the 2010 Military Friendly Schools list based on its extensive efforts to recruit and retain military students through its online and resident programs, policies and financial aid. Liberty is an active member of Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges and participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which benefits military veterans. Financial assistance to military students includes tuition discounts, free book vouchers, fee waivers and military scholarships.

Military students enjoy a flexible learning program with Liberty University Online and receive academic credit for military service and CLEP exams.

The “G.I. Jobs” Military Friendly Schools Team polled 7,000 colleges and universities since last May to compile the 2010 list.

Through its magazine and website, “G.I. Jobs” has been helping schools and employers recruit military students for more than eight years.
