The defending Western Conference champion San Antonio Silver Stars selected Liberty senior guard/forward Megan Frazee with the No. 14 pick of the 2009 WNBA Draft, held Thursday afternoon at the NBA Entertainment studios in Secaucus, N.J. Frazee becomes the second Lady Flame ever to be taken in the WNBA Draft.

Megan Frazee: “I’m thrilled to be heading to San Antonio. … There are a lot of good things going on down there. I was very excited when I found out San Antonio had drafted me.”

Liberty head coach Carey Green: “I’m excited that Megan will have the opportunity to play in the WNBA. I feel like San Antonio is a good fit for Megan, and I’m happy for both parties. Dr. Falwell always talked about training Champions for Christ, and now the Lady Flames have been blessed to send two players to compete at the highest level in the WNBA.”
