Liberty University Head Football Coach Danny Rocco took the stage at Friday’s convocation, encouraging students to come out to Saturday’s home contest against the Lafayette Leopards.
“We need everybody in this facility today to be at that game tomorrow,” Rocco told a packed Vines Center. “This is a formidable opponent, and our players feed off your energy.”
The Flames are currently sitting atop the Big South Conference with a 2-0 conference record and are ranked No. 14 in the Sports Network’s national poll. Undefeated through six contests, Liberty looks to continue its winning ways, playing host to a team who has reached the playoffs three of the last four years.
In Liberty’s previous home games this season, students have saturated Williams Stadium, helping to fill the complex beyond seating capacity. Single-game tickets for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. match-up are still on sale, totaling nearly 2,400 tickets sold thus far. (Last week’s game against Stony Brook garnered the highest sales ever for tickets sold at the gate on game day). Tickets may be purchased by visiting the Flames Ticket Office located at the Williams Football Operations Center, calling (434) 582-SEAT or by ordering online at libertyflames.com.
