Two Liberty University Flames are headed to see the Steelers take on the Cardinals at the Super Bowl this weekend, and they are not paying a dime for their tickets or VIP treatment.

“At first, I couldn’t believe it, and then it was a little surreal and overwhelming,” said Resident Director Bliss Spillar. “I told the first person standing there next to me who was a fellow RD.”

Surreal and overwhelming are good choice words to describe the grand-prize package that Spillar won thanks to the Snickers VIP Like Me: Super Bowl Fantasy Weekend contest.

The package includes: two tickets to Super Bowl XLIII, a five-day/four-night trip to Orlando, two VIP tickets to EA Sports’ Super Bowl Party, a private reception with current/former NFL players, two tickets to Disney World, and a Snickers Welcome Bash with former New York Giants standout and Super Bowl XLII winner Michael Strahan. This makes the total value of the prize package $7,240 per person.

By entering the UPC codes from select packages of Snickers bars on the company website, participants became eligible to win instant prizes for this sweepstakes. “I received an affidavit a few weeks later letting me know that I had won a prize. A week later, I got the call that I was the grand-prize winner,” said Spillar.

Spillar picked Resident Assistant Tyler McClure to tag along on the once-in-a-lifetime trip.

“My best friend Tyler was able to get us free tickets on the 50-yard line to the Cowboys vs. Redskins game this year, so I figured I would return the favor,” said Spillar. “We are most excited about meeting NFL players, experiencing the Super Bowl and being treated like VIPs.”

While enjoying the big game, these two diehard Liberty fans said they would be sporting their Flames gear to promote LU.
