Flames fans watching last night’s edition of ESPN SportsCenter saw a familiar face during the show’s Top 10 Plays segment. Liberty men’s basketball forward Antwan Burrus nailed a 30-foot three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Flames a 75-74 victory over Charleston Southern inside Buccaneer Field House.
Burrus received the ball off a baseball like inbound pass from David Minaya, who found the junior open for the downtown dagger.
Receiving huge support from fans around the country on Twitter, the game-winning trey garnered the No. 2 spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10.
While the Flames have been featured on the segment in the past, Burrus’ big shot marks Liberty’s highest spot on the countdown.
