Doctor of Business Administration program receives ACBSP accreditation

Liberty University’s Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program was recently awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), an extended layer of approval reserved for growing programs that demonstrate outstanding academic standards in leadership, strategic planning, faculty credentials, student outcomes, program quality, educational support, and more.

“With a focus that ensures students gain the right skills from their educational investment, through a student-centered teaching and learning approach, the ACBSP accreditation is confirmation of the extraordinary quality of Liberty’s DBA program,” said Dr. Anita Satterlee, Online Dean of the School of Business.

Based on the Baldrige Education Criterial for Performance Excellence, ACBSP is a globally recognized organization that offers accreditation at every degree level, from associate to doctoral. Liberty’s DBA program now joins the School of Business’ undergraduate and graduate programs that have been accredited by ACBSP since 2013.

“Obtaining ACBSP accreditation is a rigor­ous process. It is quite commendable for the work our faculty have done to get to this point,” said Shawn Akers, Online Provost. “Our School of Business continues to excel, and we are very proud of this acknowledgement of the excellence of our DBA program.”

Liberty’s 60-hour, fully online DBA program boasts over 1,300 students and continues to flourish.

The accreditation further recognizes the program for teaching excellence, determining student learning outcomes, and a continuous improvement model.

“It’s not the end of the process. It’s really the continuation of the process,” Satterlee said. “Just because we received the accreditation doesn’t mean we stop striving to be the best and do the best. We are committed to excellence, in not only the DBA program, but also all programs offered by the School of Business and are pleased with this recognition of excellence provided by the ACBSP accreditation.”
