Board of Trustees chairman celebrates more basketball victories close to home

Pastor Jerry Prevo, chairman of the Liberty University Board of Trustees, has even more reasons to celebrate the basketball season. He is not only congratulating Liberty’s men’s basketball team in winning their first NCAA Tournament game, but is also congratulating the boys and girls basketball teams from Anchorage Christian Schools,  who both won 3A State Championships titles on Saturday.

Prevo is pastor of Anchorage Baptist Temple in Anchorage, Alaska, and founded Anchorage Christian Schools.

“I want to congratulate our school, our coaches, and our players on a great season and finishing as State Champions!” Prevo said.

Liberty University would also like to congratulate the teams on their impressive victories. The girls team won their third straight title by defeating Nikiski public school, 63-48, and was undefeated for the year  29-0. The boys team (27-1) captured the championship by defeating Valdez public school 56-53.

Prevo has served as chairman of Liberty’s board of trustees since 2003.
