Alistair Begg to speak at Friday convocation

Pastor Alistair Begg will visit Liberty University for the first time this week to speak to students both at Friday’s convocation and “The Power to Change” prayer conference at Thomas Road Baptist Church Friday and Saturday.

Begg’s radio program “Truth for Life” is aired nationally on more than 1,000 radio stations and has been broadcasted on Liberty’s radio station, WRVL “Victory FM” (at 88.3 in Lynchburg) for the past three years and currently airs daily at 3:30 p.m.

“I am excited because it is his first visit to Liberty University and the first time many of our listeners will have an opportunity to meet him personally,” said Victory FM general manager Jerry Edwards.

Begg has been the pastor of Parkside Church in Cleveland, Ohio since 1983. He graduated from the London School of Theology and has been involved in ministry since 1975.

Begg is the author of several books, including “The Hand of God,” “Pathway to Freedom,” “On Being a Pastor” (with Derek Prime) and a revision of Spurgeon’s devotional, “Morning and Evening.”

Joining Begg at “The Power to Change” conference will be speakers Jennifer Kennedy Dean, Matt Fry, and Daniel Henderson, with worship by Travis Doucette, Exodus and LU Praise. The event is co-sponsored by TRBC, Liberty University and Strategic Renewal International.

  • Note: The special registration price of $5 for Liberty students at the Power to Change conference includes a free copy of Daniel Henderson’s new book, “Transforming Prayer: How Everything Changes When You Seek God’s Face” for those who register online.
