New Apple Authorized Campus Store open in DeMoss Hall

Students check out the latest Apple products during the grand opening of Liberty University’s new IT Marketplace on Sept. 28.

Students, faculty, and staff can now swipe, tap, and click their way through interactive displays of the latest Apple products in Liberty University’s new IT Marketplace, an Apple Authorized Campus Store that opened this semester on the second floor of DeMoss Hall in the North Wing Computer Lab.

As an Apple Authorized Campus Store, the IT Marketplace sells Apple products (currently computers and tablets) at special educational pricing to Liberty students, faculty, and staff. The store is manned by Apple Product Professionals who serve with Liberty’s IT Communications. The new physical location allows the campus community to discuss products in person with trained individuals. The store also serves as a HelpDesk location, where certified technicians offer warranty repairs and software support for Apple and other leading brands, right on campus. The HelpDesk also offers remote support online or over the phone.

Years of planning went into the launch of the store, with Liberty staff researching similar concepts at dozens of other institutions, culminating in the approval to operate an Apple Authorized Campus Store. In the future, Liberty hopes to expand the DeMoss Hall location to sell more Apple products as well as additional brands.

Liberty also offers a wide range of educational discounts on software and technology to its students, faculty, and staff online through the IT Marketplace (some software is even offered for free).
