General guidelines released for attending Oct. 12 Convocation featuring Gov. Mike Pence

With a very large crowd expected for Indiana Governor and Vice-Presidential Candidate Mike Pence’s appearance at Liberty University on Oct. 12, the university has released guidelines for all those planning to attend.

The Convocation is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in the Vines Center. It is open to the public and free of charge.

All guests must pass through metal detectors.  To expedite the process, there will be no bags of any kind permitted in the arena, including backpacks. A list of items prohibited by the Secret Service, including weapons, can be found at www.liberty.edu/restricteditems.

The university has arranged for additional bleacher seating to accommodate local residents who wish to attend. Parking will be available in the university’s parking garage along Regents Parkway (enter campus through the Wards Road tunnel, turn right, and parking garage will be on your left after the softball stadium). Parking for the public will also be available in the Speakman lot, behind the Liberty University Bookstore. Guests are encouraged to arrive early. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m.

Several dining locations will be opening at 6 a.m. See map below.
