LaHaye Ice Center chosen to host hockey tournament

August 6, 2010 : University Advancement Staff

Liberty University’s LaHaye Ice Center has once again been selected to host an intercollegiate tournament. The Blue Ridge Hockey Conference (BRHC) Board of Directors recently accepted Liberty’s bid for the 10th Annual BRHC Tournament on Feb. 25-27, 2011.

Liberty will also be hosting an intercollegiate figure skating competition in December.

The LaHaye Ice Center opened in 2006 due to a generous donation from Tim and Beverly LaHaye, and is a unique offering for Lynchburg and the surrounding areas.

“For those who have never been to the LaHaye Ice Center, it is a beautiful facility,” said BRHC Commissioner Ray Campbell. “Their bid will give the league full flexibility on ice times and game lengths.”

According to Campbell, this will be the first time in three years that the tournament has been hosted outside of North Carolina, and the first time in Central Virginia.

Announcements regarding this tournament will be made on the BRHC website.
