Liberty tops conference record with 12th Sasser Cup

Liberty University Athletics swept all three year-ending awards at the Big South Conference Annual Spring Meetings Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner in Hilton Head Island, S.C., as it was awarded the 2015-16 Big South Conference’s George F. “Buddy” Sasser Cup, Women’s All-Sport Award, and Men’s All-Sport Award. The feat was thanks in large part to the Flames’ six Big South titles this athletics season.

This is the third time Liberty has swept all three major awards, which it also did in 2007-08 and 2011-12.

With this year’s Big South Sasser Cup trophy — which Liberty last won in 2012-13 — Liberty regains the all-time lead in Sasser Cup awards with 12.
