Adjunct Liberty University professor Cheryl Brehm was recently selected as Mrs. Tennessee America 2015. Brehm will have a chance at the Mrs. America crown this fall in Russia at a joint pageant with the Mrs. World Russia competition. She also received gift certificates and assorted prizes totaling over $16,000.

In addition to the Mrs. Tennessee crown, Brehm won the Best Smile, Mrs. Fitness, and Director’s Choice awards at the joint Mrs. Tennessee/Mrs. Mississippi pageant held Feb. 8 in Corinth, Miss.

Brehm graduated from Liberty in 2004 with a degree in psychology. In 2009, she began teaching online with Liberty’s School of Education. Brehm said she loved her time at Liberty and strongly supports its Christian mission.

Brehm works with several nonprofits and is a youth leader with her church. She also volunteers at a local food pantry and serves on the board of Mercy Ministries, a free Christian residential program that helps struggling young women.

Through Mercy Ministries, Brehm has had the opportunity to see countless lives transformed.

“I feel like for young women today, especially those who are struggling with identity, it is important to base who you are in your relationship with God the father first,” Brehm said.

As Mrs. Tennessee, Brehm will have the opportunity to travel and champion these causes.

“When I won I just felt shocked,” she said. “It just goes to show that the Lord has so much favor on Mercy Ministries, and I believe that the Lord opened up this window so that those girls could get help. I’m just so humbled to be a part of that process.”
