LU Online intensives keep campus alive during break

Dr. Beth Ackerman, associate dean of LU’s School of Education, teaches EDUC 623 Principles of Behavior Management, offered as a one-week intensive during the winter break.

Winter break provides Liberty University Online students an opportunity to visit the campus of Liberty University and participate in intensives — classes required by Liberty University Online for the completion of some degrees. During Liberty’s winter break, more than 20 intensives are being hosted, offering education, counseling and seminary courses.

“Liberty University Online Intensives offer students the ability to gain the wisdom and knowledge needed to impact the world through our one-week class format,” said Kevin Struble, intensives coordinator for LU Online.

Several hundred students enrolled in winter intensives and traveled from around the county to attend classes on Liberty’s campus. One student traveled from as far as Japan.

The classes allow online students to meet fellow students and receive personal classroom instruction from exceptional faculty.

“During intensives, our students are not only challenged by their professors, but also gain insight from and build relationships with fellow classmates,” said Struble. “The connection between LU Online and on-campus intensives helps students achieve their academic goals at a pace they choose.”

Various intensives are held each semester and are also available to residential students.
