Flames softball coach to welcome Team USA to Lynchburg

Liberty University Head Softball Coach Dot Richardson announced during a press conference on Friday, April 4, that the 2014 USA Softball Women’s National Team will be coming to Lynchburg this summer. Richardson will coach the Central Virginia All-Stars in an exhibition doubleheader against Team USA on June 13 at Lynchburg City Stadium, with game one beginning at 7 p.m.

Richardson, a softball legend, helped Team USA win two Olympic Gold medals, along with Gold at five Pan American Games and four World Championships. Among her many honors, Richardson is enshrined in the ASA Softball Hall of Fame and UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame. Read more about Richardson in the Fall 2013 issue of the Liberty Journal.
