The American Collegiate Hockey Association has designated tonight’s men’s Division I hockey game between Liberty University and visiting Stony Brook as its Game of the Week. The No. 4 Flames and No. 11 Seawolves will face off at center ice in the LaHaye Ice Center at 7 p.m. The game will be webcast live by the Liberty Flames Sports Network.
“We’re excited to be the ACHA game of the week,” Liberty Head Coach Kirk Handy said. “It’s a great promotion for Liberty.”
Following last weekend’s sweep of Delaware, which extended their winning streak to nine, the Flames (16-1) enter the contest as the winningest Independent team in the country. Liberty swapped places with the Blue Hens in this week’s ACHA DI rankings, rising three spots from No. 7 to No. 4, tying a team record for its highest national ranking.
Stony Brook, riding a six-game win streak of its own, is tied with Rhode Island for second place in the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League, trailing Delaware by just one point.
