The Vines Center at Liberty University filled up fast for Friday’s convocation services as guests to the university’s College For A Weekend event filed in. College For A Weekend, or CFAW, is an opportunity for prospective students to experience campus life at Liberty. It is held four times a year.

Gray is founder of One Heart at a Time ministries and a pastor with theGathering, a multi-ethnic church in Charlotte, N.C. Gray, who has made radio and television appearances and is known for the movie, “Evangelism Linebacker,” challenged Liberty students to “marinate” with him on the issue of brokenness.

Dr. Laurence White, senior pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas, and an outspoken pro-lifer, was the featured speaker at Wednesday’s convocation service. Liberty University awarded White a Doctor of Divinity degree in 1997 for his tireless work on behalf of the nation’s unborn.

Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. announced during Wednesday’s convocation that two Liberty University theatre arts students have been given the opportunity of a lifetime. Sophomores Joshua DeVries and Cody Carwile have been cast as brothers in “Billy: The Early Years,” a major motion picture on the life of Billy Graham scheduled for release in late 2008/early 2009.
