Liberty students participate in Bible Across America

handwritten BibleZondervan’s Bible Across America bus rolled onto Liberty University’s campus Tuesday morning to continue the mission of completing a handwritten Bible for the 30th anniversary of the leading Bible publisher’s New International Version. Students stood in line in front of the Vines Center and were each handed verses chosen from Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers to handwrite.

According to tour guide Tom Paneitz, Liberty was chosen as a stop on the 90-city, 44-state cross-country tour because of its good reputation and central location on the route.

“We’ve been well received everywhere we go, and people are excited,” Paneitz said.

With more than 3,000 verses already written, Zondervan’s mission is to have the entire Bible completed by February.

The tour embarked Sept. 30. For more information, view Zondervan’s news release.
