National Intelligence Symposium for Law Enforcement held at Liberty Law School

The National Intelligence Symposium for Law Enforcement (NISLE) was held at Liberty University Tuesday and Wednesday, with representatives of local, state and federal agencies as well as academia from other universities in attendance.

The event was hosted by Liberty University’s Helms School of Government, Liberty University School of Law and the Strategic Policies Institute.

Now in its second year, the NISLE’s purpose is “to provide timely and actionable analysis of topics that directly affect ‘first responders’ as they seek to safeguard the American people and their freedoms,” according to its website.

Speakers included a British Mid-East Specialist in Counterterrorism, a former U.S attorney, a former JAG officer, a former CIA Operations Officer and representatives from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Virginia Fusion Center. They covered the topic, “Investigations, Interrogations, and Ethics,” asking if truth, justice, and ethics still have a place in the American criminal justice and intelligence systems.
