Students participate in Fitness Boot Camp

Finding time to exercise can be challenging for any student during the course of the semester. Liberty University Fitness is helping students remain active and physically fit with the return of its Fitness Boot Camp.

The program motivates students to stay in shape through low-impact movement, muscle-building and cardio workouts. Running through Oct. 24, participants will exercise in a variety of environments around campus such as Williams Stadium, the beach volleyball courts behind David’s Place and the Liberty Mountain trail system.

“It’s a really great way to burn extra calories,” said Andrea Sherwood, fitness department director. “Most people who come to boot camps are looking to get rid of those extra pounds. Especially, with the holiday season coming up, we really push healthy eating and keeping yourself active.”

In addition to this program, LU Fitness is offering personal training sessions for all LaHaye Student Union gym members, including students, faculty/staff and alumni. Designed specifically for members to achieve their fitness goals, these sessions include body fat and circumference measurements, personalized cardio programs, personalized workouts and nutrition ideas.

To register for LU’s personal training sessions, visit www.liberty.edu/lahaye or contact the LaHaye Student Union at (434) 592-3221.
