Winterfest kicks off at LU

Liberty University welcomed thousands at its Winterfest kick-off today. Starting at 12 p.m. Winterfest attendees could ice skate at the LaHaye Ice Center and check out Liberty’s facilities. At 6 p.m. junior and senior high school students had the chance to attend an artist meet-and-greet session.

“They’re going to meet all the artists and learn a little bit about Liberty,” Luke Enns, LU coordinator for Winterfest, said.

Winterfest combines a host of acclaimed Christian musical artists, speakers and entertainers into one staggering New Year’s Eve celebration. This year’s event features ten bands (Jeremy Camp, Skillet, Hawk Nelson, Disciple, Grits, Article One, December Radio, The Afters, Sanctus Real, and Stellar Kart) three speakers (Clayton King, Rev. Eric Timm and David Nassar) and four performers (Outcast BMX, Brock Gill, Taylor Mason, and Real Encounters). LU will be hosting thousands of Winterfest attendees on December 30, 31 and January 1.

Tickets for Winterfest have sold out in past years, so visit the Vines Center box office at LU to pick up one of the few remaining tickets. Tickets, which are no longer available via the website, will be sold at the box office today and on New Year’s Eve starting at 8 a.m.
