Liberty hires new Director of Student Accounts

Jeff Ford, Liberty University’s new Director of Student Accounts, is excited to start helping students and their families as the new school year kicks off.

The Student Accounts Office works together with the Registrar’s Office and Financial Aid Office to help students manage their payments for everything from tuition to textbooks.

“We work with students, faculty, staff … and those that support (students) in the process of paying their bills and making adjustments as life changes,” said Ford, who has a daughter who is a junior at Liberty. “We want to keep that as smooth as possible, helping everyone with lots of passion and energy. We want to make it as simple as we can. It’s a ministry.”

Ford, who has a B.B.A. in Accounting from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, has held a CPA license in Virginia since 1991. He has worked in several fields, including healthcare, insurance and not-for-profits. He has worked with Liberty as a business consultant since 2009 under the direction of Liberty’s Chief Financial Officer, Don Moon.

“We wanted a person with a good financial background, with a good analytical skill set. Jeff had worked with us a couple of years ago, so that’s where we got to know him and felt like he would be a good fit for the university,” Moon said.
