MercyMe’s Bart Millard to promote ‘I Can Only Imagine’ movie in Convocation

Singer/songwriter Bart Millard, frontman for the band MercyMe, will join a panel at Liberty University Convocation on Monday, March 5, to preview the upcoming film, “I Can Only Imagine,” opening in theaters March 16. The film tells the true story behind one of the most iconic Christian songs of all time.

Joining Millard on the stage will be Jon Erwin, co-director of the film, and actress Madeline Carroll. They will discuss the film and Millard’s story of writing the song after his father’s death.

“I Can Only Imagine” is the inspiring and unknown true story behind MercyMe’s beloved, chart-topping song that brings ultimate hope to so many. The film is a gripping reminder of the power of forgiveness, beautifully illustrating that no one is ever too far from God’s love — or from an eternal home in Heaven.

There will be no Convocation on Wednesday or Friday, due to Assessment Day on March 7 and the Big South Women’s Basketball Championship (March 8-11).
