Actor Jim Caviezel among speakers for next week’s Convocations

Next week’s Liberty University Convocation schedule will include two influential Republican leaders, the star of the award-winning movie “The Passion of the Christ,” a panel of prominent ministry leaders, and two YouTube personalities who have made an impact on the conservative community.

Monday, Feb. 26

U.S. Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) and U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C., 5th District) will speak about their roles as leaders and why it is important for everyone to get involved with government, whether through voting or running for any level of office.

Wednesday, Feb. 28:

Award-winning actor Jim Caviezel, along with a panel of faith leaders, will talk about the upcoming movie, “Paul, Apostle of Christ.” Caviezel plays Luke in the new movie about the life and ministry of Paul. He will be joined on stage by Dr. Michael Easley, the president and host of “Michael Easley inContext;” ministry author and speaker Lisa Harper; Chris Thomason, co-founder of Indelible Creative Group; and Amy Stansell, the movie’s production manager. The group will share about the importance of standing up for and sharing the Gospel, even in the midst of hardships, as well as how movies can be powerful witnessing tools. The movie arrives in theaters March 23.

Friday, March 2:

Diamond and Silk are popular video bloggers. They have more than 130,000 subscribers on YouTube with several of their videos reaching more than 1 million views. The women will share about their rise to popularity and how they came to support President Donald Trump.

A 10-day Convocation schedule is announced each Monday.
