Homecoming 2017 was a perfect mixture of the old and the new, as alumni from all decades of Liberty University’s history reunited to share memories of the past and to make more memories for the future. The number of registrations for this year’s Homecoming rose by 8 percent over last year. Families checked in and went to work on making the most of their time on campus, from attending Friday’s Convocation, a special School of Music concert, and a family carnival, to taking hayrides, touring campus, and enjoying one of the best game day atmospheres in college football.
For many, the weekend was a chance to view a campus that has undergone a nearly $1 billion transformation in the last few years. Even as the new Freedom Tower loomed overhead, all alumni shared similar sentiments of their special times on campus. Liberty University, they said, is still the same place where they learned to stand on Christian principles and impact their world as Champions for Christ.
