Tennis legends and Israeli ministers slated for upcoming Convocations

In the next week and a half, Liberty University will host an all-star panel of professional tennis veterans, worship musicians and a minister from the Holy Land, and the pastor of America’s largest church at Convocation.

The much-anticipated event featuring tennis legends Michael Chang and John McEnroe will take place on Monday, Oct. 16. The professional athletes will participate in a Q & A during Convocation, sharing their personal stories of life in the midst of the limelight. On Monday evening, Chang and McEnroe will be joined by Andy Roddick and James Blake for an exhibition match, part of the PowerShares Tennis Series, in the Vines Center. Tickets are available through Liberty’s ticket office.

On Wednesday, Oct. 18, Jerusalem-based worship band Miqedem will lead students in worship before Wayne Hilsden, the pastor of King of Kings Congregation in Jerusalem, challenges the crowd to inspire change in a conflicting world.

Chris Hodges, pastor of the Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Ala., which is the largest church in America, will encourage students with a message of hope in the midst of hardship on Friday, Oct. 20.

An upcoming 10-day Convocation schedule is announced each Monday.
