Liberty students among nation’s lowest for average loan debt

A recent financial study revealed that Liberty University students are among the nation’s lowest in student loan debt. According to LendEDU, Liberty’s Class of 2016 was rated No. 73 for Overall 4-Year Private College/University for Lowest Average Debt Per Borrower and No. 134 lowest on the Overall 4-Year College/University for Lowest Average Debt Per Borrower list.

Utilizing the latest Peterson’s financial aid data, the site compiled the lists of best and worst colleges based on average loan debt per borrower. While some schools showed a drastic change in the percent difference in average debt per borrower from 2015 to 2016 (as high as a 41-percent increase), Liberty’s was within 2 percent.

Forbes listed Liberty at No. 23 on its Top 25 Low Debt Private Colleges 2017.

Liberty offers one of the lowest tuition rates in the country. Its student loan default rate consistently falls below the national average.
