Liberty University will welcome Glenn Beck, one of America’s best-known media personalities, as its featured Convocation speaker on Friday, April 25. Liberty’s Convocation is the largest weekly gathering of Christian young people in the nation.

Beck, a television/radio host and best-selling author, will be introduced by his friend President Jerry Falwell, who has appeared on his television program to discuss topics such as social justice and the role of religion in today’s society.

“We are thrilled to welcome Glenn Beck back to Liberty University! I believe he will be stunned at all the growth and improvements here since his last visit,” Falwell said.

Over the years, Beck has become a strong supporter of Liberty. He was the keynote speaker at the 2010 Commencement. Last year, he handpicked Liberty students to share the historical significance of important artifacts at the Independence Through History museum, part of his annual Fourth of July event. Beck said he specifically asked for Liberty students because he greatly respects the university’s courage, educational integrity, and commitment to traditional American values.

In a recent broadcast on The Blaze, Beck hailed Liberty as one of the greatest universities: “There are a lot of great universities … but I will tell you, one of the best universities I have ever seen is Liberty University. These guys really are amazing. … When I die, if I have anything left I will be leaving a large sum of money to Liberty University because these guys are truly remarkable.”

Convocation begins at 10 a.m. and can be viewed live online at www.Liberty.edu/Streaming.
