Kirk Cameron’s ‘Unstoppable’ releases to DVD

On Jan. 28, 2014, Provident Films released Kirk Cameron’s “Unstoppable” to DVD in partnership with Liberty University.

During its two-night premiere at Liberty this past fall, “Unstoppable” was broadcast live to more than 700 theaters nationwide. It sold a staggering 260,000 tickets and grossed more than $3.2 million. The success sent a loud message to the entertainment industry — audiences want thought-provoking and meaningful entertainment.

The film explores some of life’s most difficult questions about suffering and the unstoppable victory of the Gospel throughout history.

Faculty and students from Liberty’s Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center helped with the production of the DVD special features. Extras include a 13-minute behind-the-scenes featurette and Warren Barfield’s “The Time Is Now” music video.

“Getting the opportunity to work on the behind-the-scenes for Kirk Cameron’s ‘Unstoppable’ was a valuable experience because it allowed me to be a part of something bigger than myself,” said senior Zach Rodgers, who edited footage in one of the Cinematic Arts Center’s state-of-the-art editing bays. “It also helped jump-start my career because I received a real film credit, which is a huge boost in my résumé quality.”
