The Liberty University New Media Communications Department is comprised of a dedicated team of Christian media professionals, existing to support the university’s mission of "Training Champions for Christ" through innovation technology and the application of new media resources.
Our mission and goals drive all that we do, as we aim to:
- Provide video content, audio visual services, web presence and other new media services and resources to aid the university internally and externally.*
- Produce innovative new media and digital content that will expand the influence of Liberty University locally, nationally and internationally through vehicles such as: broadcasting, narrowcasting, Pod-casting, electronic game development, streaming video, animation, virtualization, web casting, teleconferencing, open mobile video (MH), video on demand, blogs, channels on social networks, websites and other new media applications.
- Collaborate with, train and mentor students, interns, volunteers and understudies who will become tomorrow’s leaders, by challenging them to utilize innovative applications of new media resources to effectively communicate the message of Christ throughout the world.
The ultimate purpose of Liberty University’s New Media Communications department is to use all forms of new media communication to: provide essential services in support of the university, assist the university in it’s recruitment and marketing efforts, provide credibility and positive exposure for Liberty University locally, nationally and globally; create program content that will inform, teach, train, entertain, challenge, edify, evangelize, and ultimately drive prospective resident and online students to consider Liberty University as their school of choice.
Finally, and most importantly, NMC seeks to provide a media vehicle for introducing Jesus Christ to lost world by providing access to new media that offers the same conservative Christian world view embraced by Liberty University its leadership, alumni, faculty, staff and students.
*These services include but are not limited to: Audio and video services, video content acquisition, video production, editing and content distribution, software development, equipment acquisition, installation and maintenance of educational class room technology, facilities planning, design, construction, operation and upkeep, format conversion and trans-coding services, content storage, archiving, technical support services, administration of teleconferencing, broadcasting, narrowcasting and web casting, content publishing to social networks, development and deployment of new technology applications and integration and leveraging of emerging new media communication systems.
