¹ Beginning in 2011-12, the count of unique journal titles excludes freely accessible publications that are not contained in any purchased or subscribed database.

The university library and the campus computer labs existed as a merged service organization from the early 2000s until December 2012. The Jerry Falwell Library opened its facility in January 2014. These changes affected the continuity of library counts in four areas: seats, computer workstations, personnel headcounts, and facility visits. The contributions of the computer labs are included in the counts reported here through fiscal year 2012-2013.

For additional information about the Library's operations, see the data submitted to the National Center for Education Statistics and the Association of College & Research Libraries.
