Meet the Staff

Staff

Johnnie Moore

Vice President of Executive Projects and Media Relations
Campus Pastor

Johnnie Moore

I’m Johnnie Moore and I serve as the Vice President of Executive Projects and Media Relations.  Also, Teaching Pastor and Director of Spiritual Programs at Liberty – which simply means that I have the coolest opportunity in the world to participate in the global movement of God through some amazing college students.

You can catch me speaking on Sunday Mornings in Vines Center or in convocation, leading students in missions’ campaigns throughout the 1040 window, or buzzing around the hallways darting from meeting to meeting.

I’m pretty passionate about missions and theology, communication and globalization, cultures, politics, the news, reading and writing. Most of all, I’m enthralled by the vision of a generation of history-making students carrying the love of their Redeemer to the nations.

[Pastor Moore wears many hats at Liberty including: Associate Director of the Center for Global Ministries, contributing editor for the Liberty Journal, adjunct professor of religion, and is an Executive Associate to the Vice Chancellor.  He is also the University Spokesperson fielding many of the media inquiries concerning Liberty University and its affiliated ministries.]

David McKinney Jr.

Campus Worship Pastor

I'm a normal guy with normal abilities who happens be blessed by an abnormal God. I struggle, I get tired, I want to quit sometimes, but every one of those makes me rely even greater on the power of Almighty for my daily strength. I graduated from Liberty in 2005 with a B.S. in Worship and Music Ministry and 2009 with a Master of Arts in Worship Studies. I’ve had the privilege of serving God’s Kingdom by serving this University for eight years; 4 of those years I’ve been the Campus Worship Pastor. I have the honor of leading the students, faculty, and staff of Liberty University in corporate worship on a weekly basis. Part of this responsibility involves training, teaching, and leading the Campus Praise Band; my favorite responsibility by far!

I am the fourth child of Frank and Kathy McKinney. I have three older sisters who are married and eight nieces and nephews (with a ninth on the way!). In December 2009 I will be marrying the most remarkable woman ever to walk on planet Earth! Rachel loves in a way that I can only dream about. Her compassion for people and her unquenchable desire to know God challenge me on a daily basis. I’m excited to serve her as a husband and best friend!

Right now I’m listening to Kristian Stanfill “Attention”, Owl City “Ocean Eyes”, Ben Rector “Songs that Duke Wrote”, Hillsong United “A_CROSS // The_EARTH”, The Listening “Transmission 1”, and of course I’m always rockin’ Muse!!

Tanya Hedrick

Executive Assistant

I have the unique opportunity to serve an office dedicated to serving a campus of college students.  As the Office of Spiritual Programs is multi-faceted, I get to work in several different niches, although my basic duties surround the coordination of the office, projects and personnel schedules.  I also assist in the public relations involved with convocation logistics.

I received both a Bachelors in Communication and an MBA from Liberty University.

I have attended Liberty University since 2006 and am studying Business Marketing, planning to own a business one day. Besides my studies, I serve as an assistant to the Director of Convocation, in the Office of Spiritual Programs.

My responsibilities include: coordinating “The Crew”/ Ignite CSER Teams and planning for Baptismal Services, Communion Services and any other Spiritual Life events throughout the school year. I also assist in Convocation and Campus Church helping fulfill speakers’ needs when they visit our University. I am very blessed to be in the position I am, and pray God will use me for His glory while I am here.

LaShonda Brown

Spiritual Programs Assistant

I have just recently joined the Spiritual Programs team in August and I am currently a freshman Musical Theatre and Production double major.  My aspirations include becoming a Broadway actress and owning my own theater one day.

My responsibilities include maximizing guest speakers’ time by getting them involved with other organizations on campus while they are here and assisting with the day to day activities of convocation.   I am so thankful for this position and I hope I do it justice, with God’s help of course.

Mitchell Hillman

Spiritual Programs Assistant

I am a freelance graphic designer, student at Liberty University, world traveler and connoisseur of good comics. Currently I work for convocation coordinating the advertisements on the big screens. In that capacity I am responsible for making sure that all announcement submissions conform to proper guidelines, are displayed on time and then replaced with current ads. At Liberty I am working on a Communications major with a specialty in advertising. I love art and advertising and I try to get myself involved in those fields as much as possible. This position is a very exciting step forward to getting into the industry I am passionate about. When I’m not working or studying I like to drive my car, hang out with friends and read.
