Meet the Creative Arts Team

The Creative Arts team is a part of YouthQuest that contains guys and girls who are exceptionally gifted in drama, comedy and media arts and are devoted to serving the Lord with their talents. The team uses comedy as an icebreaker for getting to know students as well as and more importantly a way to open a door for the Gospel. The team also uses their ability on stage to present biblical truths to students, such as God’s love.

Why YQ? My journey to YouthQuest was one that is very similar to the Biblical Account of Jonah. Before I came to YQ I was on student leadership on my hall as a Prayer Leader. This was my ministry and I was set in taking the next highest leadership position (SLD) to climb the ladder and continue on. I figured, Why not? God will bless this endeavor, it's what He wants. Little did I know, He had other plans for me. I studied very hard to become a SLD, went through the interview process and I even prayed about it! Throughout the whole process, something just felt 'off'. I couldn't put my finger on it but in hindsight I know that was God's way of saying "This isn't for you." Once I found out that there wasn't a hall for me to serve on with the SLD position, I was devastated. This had to be what God wants, I had all of the qualifications, I had put the time in, why didn't I get the position? It was at that time that I remembered a conversation that I had with my friend Brett about YouthQuest. Try-outs were that week so I decided to give it a shot. This time, something was different, the interview process went smoothly, they seemed to like me and I felt this overwhelming peace about the whole thing that I can only attest to "the peace that passes all understanding" talked about in Philippians 4. I finally knew that THIS was the place that God wanted me to be.
