Biography

Dr. Maitland enjoys caring for large families and individuals of all ages. Prior to attending medical school, she was a senior research associate at Beth Israel Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, where she authored over a dozen journal articles on the topic of osteoporosis.

Her interests include Pediatrics, Women’s health, Preventive Health, Public Health initiatives, and caring for the underserved. She also has a passion for Global Health and regularly participates in international medical mission trips.

In addition to her involvement in undergraduate medical education at LUCOM, she also is a Core faculty member at the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency program where she teaches PGY-1 through PGY-3 Family Medicine residents.
