Just imagine, a church service with thousands of your peers praising God with reckless abandon. The band is so in sync that you think you’re listening to a professional band. The lights and the presentations on the screens are captivating, and promote an atmosphere of worship. The pastor has an extreme passion for the Word of God, and can deliver a message that will bring you to your knees. There is a sense of authenticity and passion that grabs your heart. You’ve just captured a glimpse of Campus Church. But take away the lights, the sounds, and the high tech gadgets, and you still have a group people who love the Lord, worshipping corporately. It’s a great opportunity that Liberty students get to participate in.
Campus Church services are held on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Vines Center, and Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at Thomas Road Baptist Church. On most Sunday mornings, Johnnie Moore, Campus Pastor, delivers the message. Wednesday night sermons are usually delivered by Dr. Ergun Caner, President of Liberty Theological Seminary. The worship is led by Liberty’s own Campus Praise Band, under the direction of David McKinney, Campus Pastor. The style is laid back and casual. The services are usually very packed full of great music, followed by powerful preaching that is straight from the Word of God.
Students really enjoy going to Campus Church, and most students attend regularly. It’s nice to be with a large group of college students who love the Lord, and love worshipping together.
