With colder weather approaching, many fair-weather exercisers will hibernate for the winter and lose their exercise routine. Don’t pack on pounds this winter. Liberty offers plenty of ways to keep fit while waiting for warm weather to return.
1. Fitness Classes:
Liberty offers a number of classes free of charge at the LaHaye Student Center. You can keep fit and meet new people with CardioPump, Body & Soul, Self Defense and Flexercise sessions. These classes meet multiple times per week so check this link to find one that fits into your schedule: www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=12779.
2. LUser:
Liberty is putting on its own version of the popular weight loss reality show. You could win $500 just for getting in shape! If you think you would be a good candidate, download the application form from www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=16353.
3. Exercise Facilities:
If you prefer to workout solo, Liberty has state-of-the-art facilities to offer you. Take advantage of the 25-yard wide, 12 feet deep indoor swimming pool, cardio room, weight room, basketball courts and rock-climbing wall.
4. Intramural Sports:
If sports are your thing, sign up and join an intramural sports team. There are a number of indoor activities including volleyball, basketball, table tennis and dodgeball. Check out www.ultimatelu.com for more information.
There is no excuse for those who cannot tolerate the colder weather. Keep up your exercise routine, just move it indoors. You never know; you might have so much fun indoors that you won’t want to come back out when the spring comes.
