• Liberty is making its 17th appearance at the Big South Baseball Championship.
• The Flames enter the 2013 championship having compiled a 48-26 overall record in previous tournament appearances.
• Liberty is the No. 5 seed for the championship. The only other time the Flames were the No. 5 seed was 2006.
• The Flames have been the runner-up in the Big South Championship five out of the last seven years.
• Liberty's most frequent opponent in the double-elmination tournament has been Coastal Carolina, with the Chanticleers holding a 12-5 edge over the Flames in meetings during the championship.
Winthrop has been Liberty's second most common opponent at the tournament. The Flames hold an 8-6 advantage during the tournament against the Eagles.

Tracking Liberty
• The Flames closed out their 2013 regular season by taking their Big South series with Radford at Liberty Baseball Stadium, two games to one, 5/16-18.  Liberty took the final two games to take the series.
• The Flames finished 13-11 in the Big South Conference, claiming the No. 5 seed for the 2013 Big South Baseball Championship.  The double-elimination tournament will be held at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
• In its first season at Liberty Baseball Stadium, the Flames finished 20-8.
• This past Saturday, OF Justin Sizemore doubled with two outs, driving in two runs for a 2-1 victory.  Sizemore had two hits in the game.
• LHP Jared Lyons moved to 3-0 with two innings of scoreless relief, Saturday.
• Pitching for the last time in the regular season in a Liberty uniform, senior RHP Brooks Roy allowed only one run on five hits over seven innings in Liberty's 3-1 win, on Senior Day, Friday. The win was his team-leading seventh victory.
• OF/RHP Ashton Perritt closed out Friday's contest with two scoreless innings to earn his fifth save of the year. He started the game in left field, collecting two hits and scoring two runs.
• In Thursday night's 6-3 setback, CF Ryan Cordell and C Trey Wimmer had three hits apiece in the game. Cordell also had an RBI and stole two bases in the game. It was his team-leading 22nd multi-hit contest.

• LHP Blake Fulghum pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out a career-high eight, Thursday.
• Over the last 10 games, DH/1B Danny Grauer has hit .414 to raise his batting average over .300.  He enters this week with a .301 average for the year.

Flames At the Big South Baseball Championship

Liberty Baseball Stadium - the New Home of Flames Baseball
• The Flames posted a  20-8 mark in their first season at the Liberty Baseball Stadium.
• When completed in June, the stadium will have 2,500 chairback seats, a turf playing field, a  operations center for the baseball program and a fully functional press area.
• After 34 years of playing at Worthington Stadium, the Flames christened the new facility, with a three-game sweep of Penn State, Feb. 23-24 and went on to win their first seven games at the stadium.

Recognizing the Seniors
• This past Friday, the Liberty baseball program and athletics recognized the eight seniors playing in their final games in a Flames' uniform.
• INF Bryan Aanderud, RHP Patrick Bankemper, RHP Justin Gunn, RHP Brooks Roy, OF/1B Justin Sizemore, 3B Dalton Sype, C Trey Wimmer and RHP Cody Young were honored before the game.

Two Flames on All-Conference Team
• C Trey Wimmer and 2B Bryan Aanderud were all named to 2013 Big South All-Conference teams.
• Wimmer was named to the conference's first team, while Aanderud was named to the second team.
• For Wimmer, its is his first all-conference honor.
• Aanderud was named all-conference for the second year in a row. Last season, he was also selected to the second team.
• P Trey Lambert was named to the Big South Baseball All-Academic Team.
