Liberty Athletics Excels in Classroom During Fall Semester

The Liberty athletics department continues to succeed on the field of competition and in the classroom, as the cumulative grade-point average of its student-athletes is above the 3.0 mark through the fall 2012 semester.

The combined cumulative GPA of Liberty's student-athletes is 3.03, as revealed by the Office of Academic Affairs for Athletics. Liberty student-athletes attained a combined 3.04 GPA for the fall 2012 semester.

A total of 16 out of 20 of Liberty's athletics teams currently maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA, as the same 16 programs achieved 3.0 or better last semester.

Liberty's men's tennis team accumulated the highest GPA among the Flames' athletics teams in the fall, posting a 3.52. Men's tennis also holds the best cumulative GPA of Liberty's men's programs, at 3.42.

The Lady Flames volleyball team led all Liberty women's teams with a 3.48 GPA during the fall. Volleyball and field hockey currently share the top cumulative GPA among Liberty's 20 athletics teams, at 3.45. All 11 of Liberty's women's teams currently have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
