Center for Trial Advocacy

The purpose of the Center is to develop a comprehensive program of trial advocacy, enable students to begin their trial skills training in their second year, and create opportunities for more intense trial skills training as reflected in the creation of our comprehensive trial team program.

Courses offered include Lawyering Skills V: Trial Advocacy, which is a required course for all students, and Advanced Trial Advocacy. In Lawyering Skills V: Trial Advocacy, students learn all the skills necessary to conduct a full jury trial. In Advanced Trial Advocacy, students continue to develop their trial skills, explore the philosophy and strategies involved in dealing with juries, and conduct multiple jury trials.
