The School of Law places a great deal of emphasis on trial practice and general advocacy skills. The Moot Court Board is dedicated to equipping students with the skills to be effective advocates and encouraging participation in both internal and external moot court tournaments. The Moot Court Board holds the Spring Moot Court Tournament each year for Liberty's first-year law students (1Ls), followed by the Fall Moot Court Tournament for 2Ls and 3Ls.

The school's inaugural 1L tournament was held in April 2005, and its first 2L tournament was held in October 2005. Liberty seeks other opportunities to compete on a regional and national basis.
