Joseph Amato, Law School Budget Coordinator, serves as a liaison between the School of Law and Liberty University in all budget matters relating to the School of Law. Amato’s abundant experience as a Senior Bank Officer and Senior Business Development Officer for a major financial institution has equipped him to carry out the duties necessary to maintain sound budget operations.
Amato previously worked as a managing director of a business consulting firm located in Loudoun County, Virginia; a senior vice president of a Warrenton, Virginia, bank; a managing director, a senior executive manager, and a managing director/senior credit officer for several other financial/business firms in Northern Virginia and Maryland.
Amato taught Business Development and Finance at Mary Washington University and in the early 1990s he worked as executive director of a cooperative program between Mary Washington University, the Virginia Small Business Development Centers and the Small Business Administration. With ample experience in advocating for small and medium business owners, he devoted many years to developing opportunities and providing support for them. In 1997 he was awarded the Financial Services Advocate of the Year award from the Small Business Administration.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Amato received his Air Traffic Control certification in 1979. He is a contributing writer for the Montgomery Business Gazette.
