State Department Travel Information

It is good policy before travelling abroad to check for travel advisories, warnings and tips issued by the U.S. Department of State.  Information as to required travel documents, visas, trip preparation, lost or stolen passports, medical emergencies and crisis situations can be found at www.state.gov/travel.  In addition, a special Students Abroad website can be accessed at http://studentsabroad.state.gov.  Students are encouraged to regularly check the Department of State websites for country-specific travel information.

If a U.S. State Department Travel Warning or Alert covering the Program dates and destinations is issued, the updated information will be placed on the Program website and e-mailed to all students registered for the Program. If a State Department travel warning or alert is issued prior to the start date of the Program that makes travel unsafe, necessitating the cancellation of the Program, students will be notified by e-mail and telephone that the Program will be cancelled and students will receive a refund of all tuition and fees except for that portion already expended to purchase nonrefundable airfare, housing, and the nonrefundable application fee. If a State Department warning or alert is provided after the Program has begun that makes travel unsafe and necessitates cancellation of the Program, students will be notified in person and by e-mail.
