Annette Pettyjohn serves as Director of Admissions and enjoys working with students and prospective students. In this position, she directs the recruitment and admissions processes for all incoming students.
No stranger to higher education, Pettyjohn earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University, and a master’s degree from Charleston Southern University. She was the Director of Admissions for the undergraduate and graduate programs at Charleston Southern University. There, she managed the recruiting and admissions operations with a continuum of strategies to successfully increase the academic standing and diversity of the applicant pool. During her tenure at Charleston Southern she developed a telecounseling program which yielded a 20 percent increase in the applicant pool over the course of two years. Pettyjohn and her staff worked with all new incoming students on financial aid including scholarships based on merit and financial need.
Pettyjohn’s administrative experience goes beyond the spectrum of recruitment, admissions, and financial aid to managing a development team as Director of the Annual Fund. Her experience as Director of Admissions and Director of the Annual Fund provides Pettyjohn with skills that fit well with her role at the law school as Director of Admissions.
Pettyjohn holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from James Madison University and a master’s degree in Business from Charleston Southern University.
