Biography

Suzanne Caruso currently serves as Associate Dean for Assessment and Online Operations. Her career with Liberty University began with the School of Law in 2007 (while she herself was a law student) as Research Assistant for then Law School Dean, Mathew Staver. Since then, Dean Caruso has continued to serve Liberty University (School of Law and Helms School of Government) in a variety of roles that include her current role as well as Associate Dean for External Affairs, Associate Dean for Career and Professional Development, Associate Dean for Online Operations, and Interim Online Dean.

Dean Caruso’s career in academia began immediately after graduation from Liberty University School of Law. As Associate Dean for External Affairs and later as Associate Dean for the Center for Career and Professional Development, she provided leadership, strategic direction, management, and oversight over the development of a comprehensive career and professional development program. Her efforts were instrumental in the development of robust externship, fellowship, and employment opportunities for the law student body. As Associate Dean for Online Operations and Interim Online Dean with the Helms School of Government, Dean Caruso provided academic and administrative oversight, leadership, and strategic direction for curriculum offerings, and program and faculty development. In her current role as Associate Dean for Assessment and Online Operations, Dean Caruso serves as the focal point for all assessment-related activities and coordinates those efforts with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Research. Dean Caruso also provides academic and administrative expertise and oversight to ensure programmatic excellence, accreditation, and regulation compliance, in addition to assessing and implementing growth opportunities for the School of Law’s online Juris Master and LL.M. programs.

Dean Caruso is a 2009 graduate of Liberty University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey and in the Commonwealth of Virginia. A passionate lover of all animals, Dean Caruso, along with her husband, established and operates an animal rescue and rehab non-profit center (Almost Home: Animal Rescue & Rehab) here in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
