Certificate in Business Law

Gain the skills you need to successfully practice business law. You will study the law as it pertains to the following:

  • Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies
  • Federal income taxation of individuals and businesses
  • Commercial paper and secured transactions

You will also explore bankruptcy, international business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulations, and business planning.

In order to receive a Certificate in Business Law, you must complete the following courses with a grade of B- or higher:

  • Basic Uniform Commercial Code
  • Business Associations
  • Taxation of Individuals
  • Taxation of Businesses
  • Accounting for Lawyers, Bankruptcy, Business Planning, International Business Transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions, or Securities Regulations (must choose two)
