Most recently used as office space (the late Dr. Jerry Falwell's office is there), some rooms are now undergoing restoration. There are plans to restore the house to the way it was in the 1920s, when it was home to U.S. Sen. Carter Glass.

Army Master Sergeant and Liberty University Distance Learning Professor Rodney Whaley has qualified to run the 2008 Iditarod Trail Dog Sled Race in Alaska.
He is the first Tennessean to ever enter the Iditarod, which begins March 1.

Gary Smalley, one of the country’s best-known authors and speakers on family relationships, gave Liberty students some premarital advice at Monday’s convocation service.

Liberty University will host Gary Smalley, one of the country’s best-known authors and speakers on family relationships, at convocation service at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the Vines Center.
Smalley is also scheduled to speak at Thomas Road Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27.

Liberty University’s spring resident enrollment this year topped the 10,000 mark for the first time.
LU currently has 9,339 resident undergraduate students and 716 resident graduate students enrolled for spring semester, bringing the total to 10,055. (Resident enrollment includes students living on campus and commuters.)

LU ranked third in the second annual Online College Ranking by the Online Education Database released January 23.

Liberty University employee Jodie Walton lent his talent in designing a billboard logo currently displayed on 29 North for the Lynchburg Community Dialogue on Race & Racism. Walton, office manager of the Center for Multicultural Enrichment — a department of Student Affairs — has a passion for graphic design and public service.

The Lee Roberson Foundation has established a scholarship fund at Liberty University to aid Christian men and women in college, graduate school or seminary.
The foundation honors Dr. Lee Roberson, founder of Tennessee Temple University and longtime pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn. Roberson died April 29, 2007, at the age of 97.

Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. appeared on CNN on Wednesday, Jan. 9, discussing the 2008 Presidential race.
It marked the first time Falwell Jr. had been on network television discussing political issues.

Dr. Ergun Caner, president of Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, arrived in Israel Monday night and is leading a group or more than 90 through the Holy Land for the Seminar in Theological Studies course.
The group includes residential and Distance Learning Program students from 24 states and two from Japan.

A webcam showing the memorial garden surrounding the gravesite of the Rev. Jerry Falwell is now available for viewing online at www.liberty.edu/memorial.
Workers recently completed work on the burial garden, which includes an eternal flame.

President of Liberty University’s Theological Seminary Dr. Ergun Caner brought his charismatic and inspiring style of evangelism to the Xtreme Winter 2007 conferences in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., in late December.
